Home Ledgers 5. Private Ledger

Private Ledger

The private ledger is no longer in common use. It records accounts which are deemed confidential by the business management. Some of these confidential items are capital, loans taken by the directors, directors’ salaries and drawings, acquisition of company’s assets, etc. The staff probably know they have to keep their hands off the private ledger because of the confidential information contained within it.
